According to the contact mode classification, it can be divided into two categories: capacitive gate and non-contact.


The potentiometers described above are capacitive gate potentiometers, which include wire-wound potentiometers, block ceramic film potentiometers, carbon film potentiometers, solid core potentiometers, metal glass glaze potentiometers, precision potentiometers, ceramic film potentiometers and metal composite oxide film potentiometers. The non-contact potentiometer is mostly composed of light sensing and magnetic sensing electronic devices and electronic components, in which the teletype composed of light sensing electronic devices is called electronic optical potentiometer; The potentiometer composed of magnetic sensitive electronic devices is called magnetic sensitive potentiometer; A potentiometer composed of electronic components is called an electronic component potentiometer. Potentiometer is an adjustable electronic component, the important role of potentiometer in the circuit has the following aspects:


1. As a voltage divider

Precision potentiometer is a continuously adjustable electromagnetic relay, when adjusting the potentiometer's turn or slide handle, the moving point contact drags on the rheostat body. At this time, the output voltage of the potentiometer can be obtained in a certain relationship with the working frequency of the potentiometer and the Angle or schedule of the moving arm.


2. As an electromagnetic relay

When the precision potentiometer is used as an electromagnetic relay, it should be combined into two sides of the electronic devices, so that a smooth and constantly changing resistance value can be obtained within the scheduling range of the potentiometer.


3. As a total current controller

When the precision potentiometer is used as a total current controller, one of the selected total current output ends is as far as possible to contact the drag point.
